Berlin

Berlin is Germany's capital and a major European hub for science, technology, culture, and international events. For DDECS participants, the city offers strong academic and research connections with practical transport access.

Arriving by air

BER Airport is connected to Berlin by regional trains, S-Bahn services, and express buses. The airport station is located below Terminal 1, and public bus stops are located at the arrivals level.

Public transport

Berlin is well connected by S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams, buses, and long-distance trains. The network is suitable for conference travel across the city and to surrounding districts.

Fare zones

Berlin fare zones are A, B, and C. Zone A covers the inner city up to the S-Bahn ring, Zone B covers the area outside the ring up to the city boundary, and Zone C includes surrounding areas and BER Airport.
